The Love Chapters | Day 11 | A little Valentine’s primping…

Here is a fun little nail heart tutorial – SUPER simple and super cute. :) Just in time for v-day! Enjoy!
{instructions below!}

Here is a step-by-step go to!
You’ll need: an X-Acto knife, white labels (regular ol’ scotch tape works too!), pencil, clear polish, and 2 nail polish colours. I used “Got the Blues for Red” by OPI & “Silver Lining” by Covergirl…

1 ♥ Paint nails with base colour of your choice. :) Let DRY for a couple of hours for best results. If you can’t wait,… {you impatient Polly} take a blow dryer to them to make sure they are bone dry!
2 ♥ Draw with a pencil the heart/shape you would like onto the label.
3 ♥ With an X-Acto knife (or sharp pair of scissors), cut out the shape. You need to have a base to cut into – I used a rubber pad used to open cans. :) This is tricky! Due to the size of the shape, be very careful… :)
4 ♥ Keep on makin those little wee cuts and trimming! Soon you’ll have an empty outline!
5 ♥ Place the label on your nail in the area you would like!
6 ♥ Press the label down so it is very “stuck”… especially around the edging of your shape.
7 ♥ Take your heart colour and paint over top of the label. –Looks messy now, looks cute later.– Make sure you don’t have TOO much nail polish on your brush! You don’t want it to run when you remove the label.
8 ♥ Wait about 10 seconds and peel off the label!
9 ♥ Wait at least an hour to apply a top coat – otherwise the clear polish will pull your sweet little heart outta shape! Only apply a top coat if you really want to. :)
Oh ya…. And then don’t forget to do the other hand. ;)

Styled Shoot – Bowties and Burlap Wedding

Oh what a day.
I collaborated with some incredible, young wedding networkers to create this styled shoot. Many shopping trips, emails and one rain-date later, we were all in one place, snacking on the same macarons. This was such a fun project and I can’t say enough good things about the amazing people I get to work with.
Jaime is one of my best. She is starting her own wedding and event planning business; Ruffled Lace Events by Elizabeth is the love-child of all the wonderful ideas she has and her years of experience in architectural & interior design. I’m oh-so excited to see her career unfold.
Bethany has a talent for make up & hair that I’ve seen develop into a blossoming career over the past few years. She’s an amazing girl that makes anyone that is lucky enough to be in her chair, giggle the whole time they are with her. And make up & hair in one artist? Yes, please.
Johnathon + Kelly, ugh. These pretty people made my day. They were willing go anywhere I asked…and freeze, tilt, and dance every time I asked. J & K also kept our ringbearer entertained the whole day, and that’s a job in itself.
Petit Paris. Oh me, oh my. Where do I begin. Just the BEST patisserie this side of the ocean. This beautiful cake was in my head, and they made it happen. Oh and when they surprised me with my favourite french macarons? They went to the top of my Favourite list.
Eric (boyfriend.) and Jerrica (the other soulmate.) were there assisting and making sure I nourished myself…What would I do without those two.

Every so often you get the chance to work with people who just get you. These people get me. And I`m proud to call them all friends.
The theme for our shoot was based around bowties and burlap. We even got my little nephew to stand in as a ringbearer. Throw in some bubbles, green green grass, and a little boy who loves everybody, and you have yourself a shoot.

This sweet little table was put together by Jaime, complete with raspberries for raspberry champagne…

Can you get much prettier than a cake with a brooch on it? Like I said, they get me.

To be happily continued….

Big and Little.

The cutest pair.
